The American self-loathing of the Democrats and liberals did not end this week. As you may recall, this month started off with a trip to Europe where President Obama referred to American “arrogance” and a “dismissive” attitude. The entire G20 Summit was about conciliation, it seems. Or, was it about groveling?
In Turkey, President Obama stated “we are no longer a Christian nation”, “but we consider ourselves a nation of citizens” [apparently he elsewhere said “US citizens”].
According to the WND, the above is actually from a speech given in 2007, so this is nothing new. What is new is that we are broadcasting this to Islamic nations in a way that makes it seem we are somehow embarrassed by our origins.
In many ways, we are not a Christian nation. One look at our crime rate is a good indicator of that. However, to deny our heritage goes a step beyond this.
You know, what does it mean to be a “nation of citizens”? Aren’t people in a nation usually considered “citizens”?
What many are doing in this country is destroying our common foundation. It is our culture that binds us together. A culture is made up of common ideals as well as things like art, music and so forth. Most of those ideals are based upon principles found right in the pages of the Bible.
However, our subservience to other nations did not end there. If it had, then this article would be a lot shorter. No, now we have a flap over whether or not President Obama bowed to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia. As much as the White House is trying to backpedal on this one, it truly seems as though Mr Obama did bow to the King. Even if not intentional, this will weaken the US in the eyes of the Middle East.
I do not agree with everything that the Church of God Faithful Flock (COG-FF) puts out, but in spite of that, their article “And I will Break the pride of your power”, but they make some convincing arguments that President Obama is an appeaser. Appeasement, of course, never works against dictators. It is time to realize that many we are trying to appease are dictators. They are dictators that believe that by bringing the US down, they will enhance their own image.
Ancient Israel was accused of seeking her “lovers” rather than God.
