First of all, no, I am not one of those who go around saying “happy” is from a pagan origin and therefore don’t say it. We can quibble about that another day, though. It’s simply that “blessed” is, in my opinion, on a higher level than “happy”. I’ll take blessedness over happiness any day of the week!
Why? Well, I’m glad you asked! Happiness is fleeting and temporary. Did you know that the KJV has some derivation of “bless” in 463 verses? “Happy” or “happiness”, however, only occurs in 28 verses.
Blessedness comes from God Himself. God is your Father! He loves you and wants the best for you!
So, a blessed Father’s Day to all you dads! And don’t forget your Heavenly Father on this day as well!
