Considering Mr. Meeker became a lightning rod for some people in the Elder's Forum a few years ago, this decision doesn't surprise me much — whether or not the claims posted online about speaking restrictions are accurate.
You know, I've never understood that speaking restriction in the first place. He cannot speak to English audiences but can speak to French audiences? What kind of a silly rule is that, and what does it really solve?
I think Meeker's not been given enough credit by some of his critics, either. Maybe he's made some mistakes, but who hasn't? I have personally seen some of the stuff he's had to deal with, and it is nothing less than demonically inspired attacks. So much so that I actually wrote him an email once encouraging him to hang in there.
