False prophets make everyone look foolish
This is a little out of sequence, but I really should share Wallace G Smith’s article on the “Plain truth about ‘Prophets’ from Herbert W. Armstrong“. Since so many like to misquote HWA, it’s refreshing to see someone put those misquotes into context.
So, to highlight his simple point: Someone who holds the office of Prophet would be someone to whom God speaks directly, revealing to that person a future event, never-before-known truth or information, “separate from, and apart from what is contained in the Bible.” It is a necessary condition. This would be the necessary fruit that distinguishes his or office from other offices.
As I have stated before, being a Prophet that gives no prophecies makes no sense!
