Hierarchical governance structure is often compared to a pyramid

It has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all the others that have been tried.
It’s no secret that American politics is such a mess. Yet, how many times have you heard something along the lines of “democracy is the best form of government” or “monarchies are so much more efficient”? The world places much emphasis upon form and outer appearance. It is treating the symptoms rather than the disease.
I was thinking about that while reading the TechRepublic article “The three most damaging management behaviors that you probably don’t know you’re doing“. Real change comes from within. The Book of Judges shows the utter chaos that ensues when all controls, both internal and external, break down completely.
The same thing is happening in this country. Eventually, total chaos will ensue. The greedy for power will take advantage of the situation, of course. On a small scale, the Obamacare website failures just points out the failings of large bureaucracies. The form doesn’t really matter, as the same sorts of failures happened as well in the Soviet Union. China has avoided the same catastrophe by controlling the rate of opening their markets and encouraging, on a smaller scale, limited capitalism.
All great empires eventually crumble. Mankind is missing out on the basic lesson that he cannot rule himself. Unfortunately, many in organizations that came out of WCG also have not learned the lesson. They emphasize form without substance. It isn’t limited to forms of governance, either. Many of the leaders in these so-called Churches of God, but really are not, put on the appearance of righteousness but instead twist doctrines into a form of idolatry. By emphasizing a form of government that feeds upon megalomania, it becomes a self-inflicted cycle of idolatry of human leaders.
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
Yes, they may quote from the Bible, keep the Sabbath, keep the holy days, but how many of them violate the two greatest commandments of all? How many violate the one sign that Jesus gave outsiders and do not show love for the brethren? They have a “form” of godliness, but it is all outer show.
14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
When will this end be? It will come at the time appointed by God — no sooner and no later.
The world puts on a brave face, and they emphasize what looks good. Change is fine with them, but only as long as it means someone else has to change.
God throughout the Bible emphasizes not just a change of an old heart but a “new heart” (Eze 11:19) and even a new life, seeing as the old one has been crucified (Gal 5:24-25).
Likewise, the governments of this world will be replaced. It will start the same way, by replacing uncaring selfish leadership with selfless leaders who care for others. It will be an inside-out change, rather than one of form and show.
Amen! God speed that day!
